Smoked Cheese – Smoked Artisan Gouda
This traditional Gouda cheese is made from raw cow’s milk and is cold-smoked for 1 day. Of course, you can eat the cheese “simply” on bread or a cracker. Also, smoked cheese can be a nice addition to the barbecue. It adds an extra smoky flavour to your burgers, hot dogs or grilled vegetables. You can also enjoy sauces incorporating this cheese. The cheese can be used in many dishes, both hot and cold. In salads, on toasted sandwiches or in a casserole or pasta dish.
The cold smoking process.
Cold smoking involves generating smoke in an external heat source. Only the smoke is led to a separate smoking chamber, where the cheese is located. Unlike hot smoking, which uses high temperatures, cold smoking maintains temperatures below 30°C (86°F), ensuring the cheese doesn’t melt or cook during the smoking process.
